At just 15 years old, Jay Williams celebrated a unique and adventurous birthday milestone, one that would shape his life and music forever. 

Born into a family that embraced the call of the open sea, Jay's coming of age was spent on a 35-foot sailboat. Fueled by his father's thirst for adventure, Jay and the family of five embarked on a remarkable year-long journey, leaving behind the Texan shores and wandering along the Gulf Coast, the enchanting Florida Keys, and the mesmerizing expanses of the Bahamas and Exumas. 

Jay's intimate connection with the elements - wind, sea, and the creatures that inhabit them - wove a deep bond with the natural world, a connection that resonates profoundly in his songwriting. Whether his lyrics portray anthropomorphic pelicans and loyal dogs or confront the raw power of deadly storms and unforgiving fires, nature consistently takes center stage in Jay's musical narrative.
